What is a CHIC number for a Labrador?

By · Updated

Short answer

A CHIC number is issued by the OFA's Canine Health Information Center once a dog has completed its breed club's required screenings and made the results public. For Labs that means hips, elbows, eyes and EIC. It proves the tests were done, not that every result was perfect, so read the actual results.
